how to submit a Java log

For Sun Java users:
  1. If you are using the latest version of Sun Java to play our games, you should see a Sun Java icon (looks like a coffee cup) in your system tray (lower right-hand corner, where you can also find the computer clock).
  2. Right-click on the Sun Java icon mentioned above and choose Open Console.
  3. Once in the console, click on the Copy button.
  4. Now, go to the response field of your incident, right-click and select Paste (or press CTRL + V on your keyboard).
If you do not see the Java icon described above, you either do not have the latest version of Java, or you disabled the icon from appearing. To re-enable the icon to appear, follow the instructions below:
  1. Go to your Control Panel (Start > Control Panel or Start > Run > Control).
  2. Double-click on the Java icon (if you do not see the Java icon, try switching to Classic View).
  3. Inside the Java Control Panel, click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Under the Advanced tab, find the Miscellaneous section.
  5. Click on the plus sign (+) to toggle the section's options.
  6. Click on the check box next to the Place Java icon in system tray option and click OK.
  7. You may now follow the instructions for submitting a Java log detailed above.

For Microsoft Java VM users:
  1. Go to the Tools menu in Internet Explorer and choose Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab and make sure you have the following settings:
    • Browsing
      • Disable script debugging - OFF
    • Java VM
      • Java console enabled (requires restart) - ON
      • Java JIT compiler enabled - OFF
      • Java logging enabled - ON
  3. Click the Security tab and make sure the Security level for this zone option is set to Medium.
  4. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Your Java logging should now be enabled. The next time the error occurs, you can send us the Java log by following these simple steps:
  1. Go to the View menu and choose Java Console.
  2. Copy the text in that window and paste it into the Contact Us form on our Games Support site.
If you're having trouble copying and pasting, check in the C:\WINDOWS\JAVA folder for a file called 'javalog.txt.' You can also send us the contents found on that file. To find this file, go to:
  1. Start, then click on My Computer.
  2. Double-click on the Local Disc (C:) drive.
    • If you get a message saying 'these files are hidden,' simply click on the 'show the contents of this folder' option.
  3. Double-click on the WINDOWS folder.
  4. Double-click on the JAVA folder.
